One of the big issues in understanding the religious philosophy behind ISIS is comprehending how such an extreme version of Islam exists with such popularity. The author of the following article (check his credentials) gives us an analytical framework useful to that comprehension. So far this is the best theological analysis I’ve come across on this issue. Can Moosa’s framework be applied to other religions besides Islam? What about using it on Supreme Court Justice Scalia’s originalism arguments?
