FX and NX – Friedman

This one deserves a post of its own. Friedman starts in China, goes to Russia, makes a brief stop in the Arab world, and ends up right on Trump’s doorstep – all around the question of pluralism in American society, and how that gives us a competitive edge over the places where he made his earlier stops.

Note the transition line between pages 3 and 4: “Yes, we must control our borders; it is the essence of sovereignty.” That’s one of the basic principles of Political Science, and a point that must enter into pretty much any and every debate on migration, refugees, and domestic immigration.
